On Thursday, 7 June, the third edition of Open Day for potential Partners in the .pl registry was held.
The .pl registry was visited by entities interested in developing their business in cooperation with NASK.
We presented to our guests terms and conditions of the Partner Programme and discussed, among others, technical aspects of the cooperation.
Showcased .pl marketing strategy was positively received by the participants. Issues pertaining to the quality and safety of the services, rendered by the Partners within the frames of cooperation with NASK, were also raised as topics of particular importance for registrants.
The .pl registry, run by NASK, published its first annual report ".pl domain name market", containing detailed information summarizing year 2017, including data not published earlier.
In 2017, the total number of .pl domain names was over 2.54 million and decreased by ca. 4.7 per cent as compared to the previous year. Almost 900,000 names were registered last year, which means that every 40 seconds a new name was registered.
The number of .pl domain registrants increased - at the end of 2017 there were over one million registrants, 66% of which were entrepreneurs and companies.
.pl domain's share in the domestic domain market was the highest, amounting to over 72%.
The .pl registry is on 6th place in Europe and on the 10th place in the world among all registries of national domains. More »
Nazwa.pl the biggest .pl domain registrar, cooperating with NASK PIB, has signed their .pl domain names with DNSSEC protocol. Introduced changes increase the security level by ca. 450 thousand domain names which constitutes almost one fifth of the entire volume of .pl registry. Due to taking those actions the entire number of domain names, secured with DNSSEC, has amounted to nearly 490 thousand, with the .pl registry moving up to the fourth place of best secured, in respect of DNSSEC, registries among over 60 members associated in CENTR (Council of European National Top-Level Registries), after the Netherlands (ca. 2.87 million names), Sweden (ca. 870 thousand names) and Czech Republic (ca. 620 thousand names).
