In accordance with the NASK Director's Regulation, as of 20 October 2017, on the change
of administration of .mil.pl domain, NASK provides exclusive registration and maintenance
of the .mil.pl domain for the minister competent for national defence. Therefore, as of
25 October 2017 NASK ceases to accept Offers for registration and renewal of .mil.pl domain names. From the date specified above, NASK will accept Offers only from the minister competent for national defence. A right to conclude and renew agreements on options for .mil.pl domain names also ceases to be binding.
NASK's decision is a result of the agreement, concluded by and between NASK and the Ministry of National Defence. The agreement has been signed in the aftermath of the motion filed by the Minister of National Defence and approved by the Minister of Digital Affairs.
At the same time, we inform that after the lapse of minimum 60 days from the effective date
of the Regulation, mentioned above, Agreements on the maintenance of .mil.pl domain names for current Registrants, which will not be recognized by the Ministry of National Defence
as institutions involved in the defence of the Republic of Poland, will be terminated with a
3-month notice period under par. 24 of the .pl Domain Name Regulations as of 18 December 2006.
The registrants of .mil.pl domain names, recognized by the Ministry of National Defence
as institutions involved in the defence of the Republic of Poland, will be obliged to make
an assignment of those domain names to the Minister of National Defence after the lapse
of minimum 60 days from the effective date of the Regulation, mentioned above.
Please be informed that on 12 April 2017 from ca. 12.00 a.m. to 7.00 a.m. services of .pl registry will not be available. A maintenance window, longer than usual, has been caused by the migration of database and systems to a new technology platform. The aim of the migration is to modernize and improve the efficiency and stability of security of the systems servicing the registrants and partners of the registry.
At the same time, we inform you that we will make best efforts to minimize the unavailability period. Thank you for your understanding.
Workshops on DNSSEC, organized by the .pl registry, were held on 5 April 2017. The aim of the workshops was to share current knowledge on potential threats in DNS and practical skills necessary to implement a DNSSEC service to a Partner's offer.
DNSSEC is a tool for the end user who therewith is able to determine whether the information received from DNS is true or false, e.g. if a visited website is in fact the website of a bank, shop, office, electronic court, public registry, etc. or a false website appearing misleadingly (phishing).
We thank the attendants of the DNSSEC workshops for active participation and look forward to Partner's actions aimed to support DNSSEC for security of Internet users.
NASK has extended the list of allowed values of DS records. The introduced change extends the pool of accepted DNSSEC algorithms by algorithm numbers 12, 13 and 14(*). Therefore, the subscribers are provided with a possibility of using elliptic curve cryptography to secure their domain names. Furthermore, the Registry system has also enabled users to add DS records containing a digest of DNSSEC key generated with algorithm number 3 or 4(**).
In the beginning of the year NASK conducted research on the application of elliptic curve cryptography by recursive resolvers supporting DNSSEC. We encourage you to get acquainted with the results.
It is to be informed , that the Agreement on the cooperation concerning Internet domain names, concluded between NASK and Grupa Adweb Bartłomiej Juszczyk, has been terminated with an immediate effect due the infringement of obligations arising out of the Agreement.
If the subscriber holds the authinfo code to the domain name, it should be referred to a chosen registrar. If the subscriber does not hold the authinfo code to the domain name, they should follow the procedure provided at https://www.dns.pl/english/registrar/transfer.html. While filling in the form, please be sure that the e-mail address, you have provided, is proper and active. In order to assign a proper status to the issue, the correspondence with NASK regarding the transfer should be affixed with a note - TERMINATION.
The transfer of service should be completed by the end of the billing period of the domain name or option. The services, assigned to the domain name, the service of which has not been transferred, will cease to operate with the end of the billing period. At that moment the domain name will turn into the blocked state domain name's billing period has finished for 30 days. During that period the Subscriber is still allowed to transfer the service and renew it for a consecutive billing period. If the domain name is not renewed within that 30 days the agreement will be terminated and the domain name released to the group of names available for registration.
NOTE! In the interests of the subscribers the domain names of whom, at the moment of termination of the cooperation with the Partner, were holding the blocked state. NASK has provided an addition period of 30 days for the transfer of service from the date of the termination of the agreement with the Partner. The current expiration date of the domain name may be checked in the Whois database.
TRANSFER OF OPTION SERVICE
If the subscriber holds the authinfo to the option, it should be referred to a chosen registrar.
If the subscriber does not hold the authinfo code to the option, they should fill in the form CONSENT TO EXCLUSIVE PERFORMANCE OF OPTION.
The form should be sent, as an attachment, to firstname.lastname@example.org or by fax at number +48 22 380 83 01. The realization of an option is available only after transferring domain name service to other NASK's Partner.
In case of questions, please contact our Customer Service Center (phone: +48 22 380 83 00; email@example.com).
In accordance with NASK's decision on closing the service of .pl domain name tasting (DNT), please be informed that on 29 December 2015 NASK ceased the service of .pl domain name tasting (DNT).
The above decision has been made primarily because of the telematic security of the Internet users in the .pl zone.
The completion of the project of closing the service has been preceded by consultation with NASK's Partners at the meeting held on 21 May 2015.
According to the notification on closing the service, published at www.dns.pl/english/bulletin.html on 22 June 2015, NASK was successively closing the service of .pl domain name tasting (DNT), under the Agreement concluded with NASK's Partners, by the end of December 2015.
On 29 December 2015 the procedure of closing the DNT service in the Registry system was completed, thus the execution of tests of new domain names is no longer possible.
Furthermore, please note that the domain names tested before the closing of the DNT service will remain active in the Registry system and available for registration.
In accordance with the NASK's decision on the cessation of operation as the .eu domain name registrar, we inform you that from 29 October 2015 NASK has not been assisting in registering and servicing .eu domain names as well as accepting .eu domain name transfers from other registrars.
Furthermore, please be informed that on 29 October 2015 NASK carried out a bulk transfer of remaining .eu domain names to a chosen authorized partner of the EurID registry - Grupa Adweb Bartłomiej Juszczyk with a registered office in Kraków: www.2be.pl.
The bulk transfer pertained only to those domain names whose registrants did not select a particular registrar in the deadline determined by NASK.
Please be informed that on 25 August 2015 NASK published a new version of the .pl Domain Name Regulations which is going to be binding for the Subscribers of .pl domain names from 1 December 2015. The change, described above, is a result of the cessation of executing the Administrative and Technical Service (hereinafter referred to as Service) directly for the Subscriber. The most important changes in the Regulations, referring directly to the NASK's cessation of operation as the .pl domain name registrar, pertain to:
method of concluding and terminating the agreements on domain name maintenance,
provision of Service by NASK,
payment of fees,
giving Subscriber's consent to provide the Partner with the Service by NASK.
In the new wording of the Regulations there has been implemented more detailed specification of the provisions on the results of:
failure to sign the arbitration clause by the Subscriber,
termination or expiration of the Agreement binding the Partner with NASK,
failure to pay the fee for the Service,
the procedure of conduct in situations posing a threat to the security and stability of the domain system.
There also have been specified transitional provisions for the Subscribers bound by the agreement on the domain name maintenance as of the enforcement of the changes in the Regulations.
The above changes require that the action be taken by the Subscribers, whose registrar is NASK, i.e. provides Service for them. Those Subscribers should choose a new registrar by the end of the billing period if it falls after the changes in the Regulations have been enforced. From 1 December 2015, with the end of the paid billing period, NASK is going to cease providing the Service and renewing domain names for a successive billing periods. Carrying for the security of services provided for the Subscribers, serviced directly by NASK, NASK will inform the Subscribers, in writing, about the date when the designation of the Partner, taking over the function of the registrar of their domain names, is necessary.
The process of notifying the Subscribers will be extended in time and the last Subscribers may expect to receive the notification even 9 months after the new Regulations have been enforced, therefore the Subscribers are asked for patience and indulgence.
We invite you to get acquainted with the changes in the .pl Domain Name Regulations.
In case of any question, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Service Center (tel. +48 22 380 83 00, e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org), as well as to become familiar with the list of answers for frequently asked questions.
Due to obtaining on 31 July 2015 the information on sending by "National Record and Registry of Domain Names" a message to the .pl domain name Registrants regarding "entering domain names to the black list of the registry", the Research and Academic Computer Network, with the registered office in Warsaw (hereinafter: NASK), herby declares that the entity named "National Record and Registry of Domain Names" does not exist, thus does not cooperate with NASK in any respect and does not run any activities described in messages mentioned above.
The name and data of NASK have been used without permission.
The Registrants, who have received the messaged mentioned above, are recommended by NASK not to proceed with the activities described therein.
Bearing in mind that the information specified in the email messages, mentioned above ,may confuse the .pl domain name Registrants as to the NASK's activities, NASK, as a ccTLD registry of .pl domain, has immediately undertaken appropriate steps aiming to secure the interests of the Registrants.
Please be advised that on August 5, 2015 NASK plans to make the following changes in the rules of technical service of the .pl domain names:
1. Extending of BLOCKED state for .pl domain names (indicated in the WHOIS database as "domain name's billing period had finished") from 15 to 30 days. As a result, the Registrants will have more time to renew or transfer with simultaneous renewal their domain name.
2. The abolition of the NASK Registry system restrictions to initiate the transfer not later than 6 days before the end of the current billing period of the domain name. As a result, the Registrants will have more time to transfer the domain name to NASK's Partner.
The changes are dictated by both the expectations of the Registrants of .pl domain names, as well as other participants of the Polish domain market, in particular NASK's Partners.
Please be informed that NASK is planning to cease the service of .pl domain name tasting (DNT) until the end of December 2015.
The above decision has been caused primarily by the decrease in the interest of testing .pl domain names (DNT service), which is confirmed by the data contained in the NASK's reports for last quarters, published at www.dns.pl. The analysis of the data, mentioned above, leads to the conclusion that DNT service has currently insignificant impact on the support and promotion of the registration of new .pl domain names. Furthermore, NASK observes that this service has been recently more frequently used for management and distribution of malicious software, which threatens the telematic security of the Internet users.
The NASK's decision on the matter, mentioned above, has been preceded by the discussions with the NASK's Partners at the Meeting of NASK's Partners, held in Warsaw on 21 May 2015.
On 15 June 2015 NASK is ceasing to accept offers for registration of .pl domain names regarding the provision of
Administrative and Technical Service (hereinafter referred to as Service) directly for a subscriber and the extension
of the scope of existing agreements on the provision of the Service directly for the subscriber.
From the date mentioned above the registration of a .pl domain name by individuals and entities will only be allowed
by means of one of NASK's Partners, specified in the up-to-date list of the Registrars,
published at the NASK's website.
The above decision constitutes a next step of the .pl registry in the process of fundamental changes in the method of providing the Service
of the .pl domain name resulting in the discontinuation of provision of the Service of the subscribers of .pl domain names by NASK.
Ultimately, NASK is going to provide the Service exclusively for the Partner specified by the domain name subscriber.
The actions, currently being taken, result from effecting the successive phase of deregulation of the domain name market in Poland,
commenced in December 2002, aiming, among others, to increase the availability of services.
Completion of those actions will allow NASK to focus on the development,
stability and security of the .pl national domain registry.
Within the frames of the successive phase, NASK is going to publish the new .pl Domain Names Regulations the enforcement
of which will commence the process of ceasing to provide the Service directly for the subscribers, which may last for several months.
It means that the subscribers of .pl domain names will be obliged to choose a Partner for whom NASK will be executing the Service
and which will be representing them before NASK. For the security of all the subscribers NASK is going to provide the
Service of each such a .pl domain name at least until the end of its billing period, commenced before the enforcement
of the new .pl Domain Names Regulations. Nevertheless, each .pl domain name subscriber, for whom NASK is executing the Service,
will be notified about the changes in writing at least 3 months before the end of the provision.
Therefore, the process of informing the subscribers will be extended in time and the first subscribers will
receive a written notification from NASK at least 3 months before the enforcement of the new .pl Domain Names Regulations
and the last not later than 9 months after the enforcement of the new .pl Domain Names Regulations.
For the reasons mentioned above we ask the .pl domain name subscribers for patience and understanding during the period of changes.
At the same time, please be informed that the Service, provided to the subscribers on the basis of the agreements
concluded before 15 June 2015, is going to be provided on unchanged conditions, i.e. in accordance with
the binding .pl Domain Names Regulations as of 18 December 2006, at least to the enforcement date of the new .pl Domain Names Regulations.
We also inform that the changes, presented above, do not apply to the subscribers of .gov.pl domain names, serviced pursuant
to the binding .gov.pl Domain Names Regulations as of 26 March 2013.
Please be informed that with the end of 2015 NASK is going to cease its operation as the .eu domain name registrar.
Therefore, on 1 June 2015 NASK is ceasing to assist in the registration of the .eu domain names as well as to
accept transfers of the .eu domain names from other registrars.
At the same time, we assure that the service of registration of the .eu domain names, registered before the above mentioned date,
is going to be realized on unchanged conditions. Each of the .eu domain name subscriber is going to be informed
individually about the changes in service by means of the e-mail address,
specified in the electronic customer panel for Agreement execution purposes.
Please be reminded that the list of accredited .eu domain name registrars is available at
the registry's website.
Both the individuals interested in registration of a new domain name and those interested in changing a registrar
(transferring an existing .eu domain name) are welcome to visit the registry's website and get acquainted with the list.
We inform that The Regulations on servicing the .eu domain name registration and maintenance, hereinafter referred to as the Regulations, shall be amended.
The information on the change of the Regulations is published in a /eurid/english/en_regulamin.html.
The amended Regulations shall obligate the entities bound by the Agreement on servicing the maintenance of the .eu domain name with NASK provided that the entity does not terminate the agreement with a 2 week notice period calculated from the day of informing about the change.
We inform that NASK is working on the adaptation of the .pl domain names life cycle to the expectations of the market to increase the availability of names for registration.
15 December 2014 is scheduled in the .pl registry for the extension of the period in which the .pl domain name is available for registration on the basis
of the "first come, first served" rule, however, it is not available for reservation and testing (DNT service). The change refers to the state indicated in the WHOIS database as "Domain name is released from the queue", and in the registry system as a BOOK_BLOCKED term. This state is intermediate between the ineffective reservation and release of the .pl domain name from the registry database, and it is marked by the domain name availability for registration by any NASK's Partner providing this service. For the domain name remaining in this state the contract for option on the registration cannot be concluded, nor the domain name tasting performed
The duration of the BOOK_BLOCKED state will be extended from 5 to 90 days, but the change will not affect the domain names which are already in this state at the time of the above change. The WHOIS database response for this state will also receive a new meaning - the current "Domain name is released from the queue" will be replaced by a new one: "Domain name after being released from the queue, available for registration". The functionality of registering the domain names in the BOOK_BLOCKED state by NASK's Partners, providing this service, will remain unchanged. The diagram showing the current life cycle of the .pl domain name is published on www.dns.pl site.
Extending the duration of the BOOK_BLOCKED state aims to increase the availability and improve the transparency of the .pl domain names registration process for all entities.
